A PRESENTATION
At the last weekly rehearsal of the orchestra of the South Australian Allgemeiner Deutscher Verein, "at the Central Hall, Grenfell Street, Herr C. H. Goetze, the conductor, was made the recipient of a handsome cuckoo clock, suitably engraved, as a mark of appreciation and esteem by the members-, Mr. Thorn, who made the presentation, congratulated the orchestra upon being so fortunate as to have so able a conductor and musician as Herr Goetze. He spoke of the great benefit that the orchestra, which consisted chiefly of amateurs, had derived from his conductorship, pointing out that the intimate acquaintance which he possessed of all the instruments eminently fitted him for the position which he occupied. He had worked most energetically, and had the efficiency of the orchestra at heart.
Herr Goetze feelingly responded.
