W. Dearden Jackson - bassoonist

Bill Jackson was an English gentleman and he and his Danish wife Tove were frequent dinner guests at our house.  Besides being a bassoonist, Bill was an accomplished pianist.  He was also an animated conversationalist.  Our dining room was combined with the living room which contained a piano.  It was not unknown for Bill to jump up from the table to illustrate a point on the piano and then resume his place at the table.  Bill had to go to hospital to undergo some routine surgical procedure and died under the anaesthetic.  He was a sad loss.
