Society of Musicians,
- The first
general meeting of the proposed Society of Musicians in Adelaide took place
in Herr G. Reimann’s Academy of Music, Wakefield street, on Saturday afternoon. The following officers were elected:- President, Professor Ives, Mus Bac.;
Vice-Presidents Messrs.W.B. Chinner
and C. Reimers; Secretary, Mr James Shakespeare;
treasurer, Herr G Reimann; and a committee consisting
of Messrs G.Hall, C.Püttman,
Oscar von Reyher, W.R.Knox,
O Strange and W.R. Pybus. It was decided to name the
Society that Adelaide Society of Musicians, and the object to be that of
establishing a bond of union between gentlemen of the musical profession, and
to discuss at its meetings musical matters generally and anything which may
affect the Society in particular.
