Sir Thomas Beecham conducted a concert given by the ASO on August 31^st 1940 at 8.15pm. Young Sydney Pianist Eunice Gardiner the Piano Concerto by Delius. Other works on the program were Mozart Symphony No.34, En Saga by Sibelius, Symphony No. 93 Haydn and selections from Wagner’s Mastersingers. The orchestra was augmented to 62 players.
