There was an orchestral concert in Port Pirie, during Henry Krips’ time as chief conductor. This was the time when the train line went right down the middle of the main street, the same street where the hall for the concert was positioned. Someone thought they saw money change hands between one of the musicians and the train driver. About five minutes after the start of the concert, just as things were getting into full swing, down goes the train, past the concert hall giving a good number of long blasts of his horn, at FFF level !!! (FFF = musical notation for very, very loud)
