Mahler’s Eight Symphony

(Symphony of a thousand)

was played by the ASO, joined by the TSO on March 13th 2010 at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre to close the 2010 Adelaide Festival. This was the second time the work has been played in Adelaide. The first time was for the Adelaide Festival of 1968 (Comments, Program, orchestra & choir 1, choir 2 Musical chairs links). This second performance was conducted by Arvo Volmer, with various soloists and choirs, & played to a sold out audience of 5000.
