A bit on the nose

In my first years in Adelaide, the Music Department was housed down below ground level in "Football House" on the western side of Hindmarsh Square.  I do remember there was a smelly old well which periodically would overflow, resulting with the most obnoxious odours, which led at times to our evacuating the building for periods.  It was hardly a salubrious workplace by today's standards.
